What is Phenology?
Phenology (feh-NAA-luh-jee) is the study of nature’s seasonal rhythms and how changing seasons influence plants, animals and the environment around us. From the first blossoms of spring to the changing colours of autumn, phenology helps us observe and understand the natural patterns that unfold throughout the year.
When we began creating Phenology Décor, we were drawn to this idea of noticing and celebrating seasonal change. In a world that often moves too quickly, we believe there is joy in paying attention to the rhythms of nature and marking the moments that make each season unique. This philosophy became the inspiration behind both our business name and our collections.
Our logo is inspired by the traditional phenology wheel, a tool used by scientists and nature observers to record and share seasonal changes over time. The wheel is typically divided into four sections representing the seasons, with a central point symbolising the connection between time, nature and place.
For us, the phenology wheel represents more than a scientific tool. It reflects the belief at the heart of our brand: that by noticing, celebrating and embracing the changing seasons, we can feel more connected to the natural world and the spaces we live in. That is the inspiration behind Phenology Décor, connecting you and your home with nature, one season at a time.
The Story Behind Phenology Décor
Phenology Décor was founded by Conor Farrell, whose lifelong appreciation for nature and design was shaped by his upbringing in the Blackstairs Mountains of Wexford, Ireland. His family home was always filled with seasonal wreaths and thoughtfully chosen décor that marked the rhythm of the year and the moments that mattered most.
Drawing on this heritage, and with a strong interest in business and design, Conor began developing Phenology Décor around the family dining room table. What started with an innovative interchangeable door wreath has since grown into a wider home and lifestyle collection, supported by a dedicated team of makers and creators who help bring the Phenology vision to life.
Today, the collection extends beyond the hall door to include Candle Wreaths, seasonal candles and diffusers, handmade soaps and accessories, match cloches, vases and seasonal stems. Each piece reflects a commitment to thoughtful design, quality and longevity, with Irish craftsmanship and production at the heart of the collection wherever possible.
As Phenology continues to evolve, the idea at its heart remains simple: creating beautiful, considered pieces that bring a sense of nature and the changing seasons into the home.

Our Approach
At Phenology Décor, we believe that beautiful products should be thoughtfully designed, carefully made and created to be enjoyed for years to come. Where possible, we work with Irish makers and suppliers, supporting local craftsmanship and celebrating the skill, quality and care that goes into every piece. From seasonal home décor and fragrance to lifestyle accessories, we favour timeless design and quality materials over trends and disposability.
We are continually exploring ways to create collections with longevity in mind. This is reflected in our interchangeable wreath system, seasonal inserts and wreath care kits, all designed to extend the life of our products and encourage a more considered approach to seasonal decorating. We are equally mindful of the choices we make behind the scenes. We aim to minimise packaging wherever possible, reduce unnecessary waste and make responsible sourcing decisions as our collections continue to grow.
As part of our commitment to giving back to nature, every wreath purchased contributes to tree planting through our partnership with Tree-Nation, supporting global reforestation efforts one tree at a time. Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and while we know there is always more to do, we remain committed to creating collections that balance beauty, craftsmanship, longevity and care for the world around us.
